Things to Do in Chattanooga: March

If you’ve been avoiding the cold weather during the winter months, Chattanooga invites you outdoors to enjoy the changing season. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the city, design your own themed outfit for charity, and slip on your running shoes to support local nonprofits. Here are some of the many events to choose from in March.

Hunter Underground/Hunter Museum of Art

March 1

The Hunter Museum of Art invites you to the Hunter Underground: Portals of Possibility to kick off the month of March. The annual fundraiser draws inspiration from the special exhibition at the museum, Networked Nature. The event’s artwork and costume contest will highlight the exploration of technology and nature, and guests are encouraged to design an outfit that combines the earthy essence of nature with metallic colors reminiscent of developing tech. And don’t forget your dancing shoes.

Erlanger Marathon Weekend

March 1-3

If you love running and want to support Erlanger’s mission in Chattanooga, the 7th annual Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon is the event for you! Choose from a marathon, half marathon, or 5k for the distance runners, grab your friends for a team relay, and sign up your kids for the kid’s fun run. AmuseUm: Creative Discovery Museum

March 2

Party like it’s 1995 at the Creative Discovery Museum! AmuseUm ‘24 celebrates the music, trends, and iconic fits of ‘95. Mystical Market: Art and Farmers Market

March 9

Don’t push your luck and miss the Mystical March Market at The Commons in Collegedale! From 10am-3pm, you’ll be serenaded by Irish and Celtic music as local vendors showcase their art, baked goods, and fresh produce. Admission is free, so grab your friends and family and encounter a taste of Ireland.

100 Million Steps in March/Ruby Falls

Month of March

Ruby Falls and the American Heart Association challenge you to walk 100 million steps in March. When you visit Ruby Falls, choose the cavern trail to visit the underground waterfall and show your support for AHA’s Go Red for Women by signing the Million Steps in March Banner. Possibilities Luncheon:

March 13

On March 13th, Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation will host the Possibilities Luncheon at the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center. Command Sergeant Major Gretchen Evans will headline the event. As a senior military intelligence analyst and paratrooper, Evans has traveled the world and participated in various high risk missions. A traumatic brain injury in 2006 ended her career in the military, but that accident didn’t define her. Come to hear Evans’ story of recovery and support Siskin Hospital as it continues providing excellent care to the Chattanooga area. Purchase individual tickets or a table here!

Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival in Coolidge Park

March 23, 12-6pm

Rain or shine, you can enjoy local cuisine and craft beer in Coolidge Park for the Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival. From Cajun classics to Chicago-style favorites to authentic Mexican food, the festival will offer a taste of Chattanooga’s best food trucks. Artisans will also be in the park selling their handmade goods. Don’t miss this day of food and fun by the river!

Rump Run

March 23

Enjoy the colors of spring in beautiful Enterprise South Nature Park for the 12th Annual Rump Run. Greater Chattanooga Colon Cancer Foundation and Galen Digestive Health have partnered to offer a 5k Timed event and 1 mile fun run to support cancer survivors. The run is dog, kid and stroller friendly, and the event will have a Kid’s Zone with a bouncy house, face painting, and more.

Strides of March

Saturday, March 23

Cempa Community Healthcare invites the community to commemorate Chattanooga’s strides in the fight for HIV healthcare improvements with the 29th annual Strides of March highlights. Dancing with the Stars of North Georgia:

March 23

Experience the magic of dance with Chattanooga’s own version of the hit show, “Dancing with the Stars.” Dancing with the Stars of North Georgia invites Chattanoogans to the Chattanooga Convention Center to benefit Primary Healthcare Centers’ outreach in Georgia. Before the dance, vote on your favorite local celebrity and their professional dance partner to donate. Then prepare to witness the one-night gala where the dancers face off in an epic competition. Spring Blooms at Rock City:

March 25

Beginning in March, you can be one of the first to see Rock City’s Spring Blooms in 2024. Rock City is revamping their spring events with a season-long celebration of botanical beauty. The trails will showcase a variety of blooming plants and trees alongside new art pieces and arrangements. Soak in the sunshine and fresh air atop Lookout Mountain as you admire the changing seasons of the Tennessee Valley.
