There’s no denying that February is a month when love is in the air. With Valentine’s Day falling on the 14th, events catering to couples are aplenty. But if V-Day isn’t your scene, don’t fret. Chattanooga offers lots of interesting things to do this month, from musical performances and antique shows to bar crawls and Mardi Gras celebrations.
National Wear Red Day®
February 4
February is American Heart Month, and to help shine some light on heart health, the first Friday in February has been designated National Wear Red Day® by the American Heart Association. Everyone can support this great cause by wearing red (shirts, shoes, hats, you name it!) in addition to donating, spreading the word, and, most importantly, creating lasting change for a healthier heart.
The Original Chattanooga Onesie Crawl
February 5
Presented by Bar Crawl USA, The Original Chattanooga Onesie Crawl brings together hundreds of adults in onesies as they take over the best bars in the Scenic City. The $12 ticket includes two complimentary shots on the crawl, discounted drink specials, a scavenger hunt crawl game, raffles for cash prizes, music, and more. The fun lasts from 3 until 10 p.m.
Romance at Ruby
February 5, 10-14
For a Valentine’s Day to remember, celebrate at one of Chattanooga’s most beloved attractions: Ruby Falls. Romance at Ruby includes a special lantern tour, professional keepsake photo, and gift. Participants will also be treated to tales of legendary local romances, including the love story of Ruby Falls’ own Leo and Ruby Lambert. Don’t forget to arrive early to enjoy the moonlit view from the historic Lookout Mountain Tower!
Black Excellence Chattanooga (BEC) Awards

The third annual BEC Awards is set for February 6 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Presented by Chattanooga Business Elite, this awards show recognizes and celebrates minority businesses that have excelled in customer service, community enrichment, and been an overall enhancement to Hamilton County.
String Theory Season XIII: Suk, Kodály, and Smetana
February 8
On February 8, the Hunter Museum of American Art will be filled with three of the most representative chamber music works of Eastern Europe by Suk, Kodály, and Smetana. This ticketed performance features Alexander Sitkovetsky on violin, David Requiro on cello, and Gloria Chien on piano. A musical dialogue begins at 6 p.m., with the concert to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Valentines Date Night at The Sweet & Savory Classroom

Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a romantic dinner for two! Fortunately, The Sweet & Savory Classroom is offering five separate evenings for couples to refine their culinary skills and create a delicious meal. Showcasing French cooking and its influence around the world, the menu includes artisan cheeses and meats, bacon cheddar soufflé, seared beef tenderloin, and crema catalana. Mardi Gras Ball 2022: Strange Love
February 12
With a full Cajun buffet, drinks, dancing, party favors, and more, the Mystikal Krewe of Indulgences’ 27th annual Mardi Gras celebration at The Read House promises to be a good time while benefiting a good cause. The evening’s revelries, which last 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., also feature a live Dixieland band and the crowning of the Chattanooga Mardi Gras king and queen. Proceeds go to support local nonprofit Downside Up, Inc.
Cupid’s Chase 5K

Couples who sweat together, stay together, right? Couple or not, anyone can support Community Options, Inc. this Valentine’s Day by participating in the Cupid’s Chase 5K, which raises funds to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. The race begins at 10 a.m. at the Tennessee Riverpark (4301 Amnicola Highway).
Rent – 25th Anniversary Tour
February 22-24
Rent – the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical – tells the story of a diverse group of impoverished young artists and friends chasing their dreams in Lower Manhattan’s East Village. Rent has been captivating audiences for a quarter of a century, and this 25th anniversary “Farewell Season of Love” is the final chance to experience the celebrated touring production. Catch a show at Chattanooga’s Soldiers & Sailors Auditorium on February 22, 23, or 24 at 7:30 p.m.
48th Annual Antiques Show and Sale
February 25-27
The Houston Museum of Decorative Arts’ annual Antiques Show and Sale is back, and this year, the historic Read House will host the three-day event. Thirty dealers from across the United States will be showing off their finest wares, from exquisite jewelry to fine art, furniture, serving pieces, and more. For $10, ticket-holders will have access to all three days of the show. All proceeds benefit the Houston Museum.
