The days are getting longer, and Chattanooga is buzzing with events as springtime draws near. From soccer and shamrocks to Broadway music and beer, there’s sure to be an activity that sparks your interest. Here’s what’s happening across the Scenic City this month.

Chattanooga Marathon

Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon

March 4-6

This vibrant race weekend shows off the Scenic City’s natural beauty with five unique competitions: a marathon, half-marathon, team relay, 5K, and kids’ fun run. Participants can also take on the “Chattanooga Challenge” (running the 5K on Saturday and either the marathon, half-marathon, or team relay on Sunday). First Horizon Pavilion serves as home base for the races and will also host an expo with local vendors.

AmuseUm Creative Discovery Museum

AmuseUm: Hard Hats Required

March 5

With the theme “Hard Hats Required,” the Creative Discovery Museum’s annual fundraiser is celebrating the bright future of this top-rated children’s museum. From hard hat tours and building challenges to dancing under the stars to The Atlanta Allstars, this adults-only party promises fun for all beginning at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $125, and VIP tickets are also available.

Light Up Chatt Lantern Parade

March 5

Featuring handmade LED lanterns and hats, this inaugural event – part of River City Company’s “Rock the Riverfront” and hosted in partnership with Playful Evolving Monsters and Art 120 – will be lighting up the night sky on March 5 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone can join in on the fun by making their own lantern or hat or attending an online class or in-person workshop! Shamrock City

In its 13th year, Rock City’s premier St. Patrick’s Day event is set to draw a crowd with Irish food, beer, pop-up Irish dance performances, live bands, Suffolk sheep, and a miniature Scottish Highland cow. Visitors can also enjoy serviceberry, red maples, and pansies blooming throughout the gardens. You have two separate weekends to view the High Falls flowing green – timed-entry reservations are recommended!

Brew Skies Beer Festival

Beer aficionados and their designated drivers will want to check out this exciting festival with a new location: Chattanooga Lookouts Power Alley! All tickets include unlimited beer samples from local and regional breweries and a variety of ballpark food for sale; VIP tickets are also available. Proceeds from the event benefit the Chattanooga Breakfast Rotary Club and its service projects, including an all-inclusive playground at Rivermont Elementary School.

St. Paddy’s Day falls on a Thursday this year, but start your celebration a day early at The Chattery with an in-person class featuring three holiday-themed cocktails. Taught by Kaleena Goldsworthy of The Bitter Bottle, the 6 p.m. class will cover the basic skills needed to recreate these delicious concoctions at home. Cost is $35 to attend, and registration is available on The Chattery website.

Broadway Tonight!

Part of the First Horizon Foundation Pops Series, this special evening with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera is the perfect outing for anyone who’s memorized every Hamilton song. Broadway Tonight! is produced and directed by Broadway veteran Doug LaBrecque and features two incredible performers straight from The Great White Way. They join the CSO in renditions of classic Broadway hits as well as new favorites from shows including Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, and, of course, Hamilton.

Rump Run

Rump Run

March 26

Boasting team names like “Rearless Butt Fearless” and “The Tail Blazers,” the Rump Run isn’t your average race. Hosted by the Greater Chattanooga Colon Cancer Foundation at Enterprise South Nature Park, this event is all about “kicking cancer in the butt.” Participants can choose to run or walk the timed 5K, which begins at 9 a.m. on March 26, and there’s also a one-mile fun walk. Chattanooga FC vs. Maryland Bobcats

March 26

Catch the Chattanooga FC back in action in their first home game of the 2022 season! The Maryland Bobcats (NISA) will be traveling to Finley Stadium for the 3 p.m. matchup. This will be one of the Chattahooligans’ first opportunities to see the CFC under new head coach Rod Underwood. Annual passes are available now.

Sip TN Chattanooga Wine Fest

Spend an afternoon sipping, shopping, and strolling at the 3rd annual Sip TN Chattanooga Wine Fest at the First Horizon Pavilion. The festival features over 200 wines produced right here in Tennessee, and food trucks and local vendors will also be on-site from noon until 6 p.m. In addition to wine tasting, general admission tickets include a “TN Wines” wine glass and a wine bottle bag – perfect for carrying home any bottles of wine purchased at the event.
