This month offers a first taste of fall all around Chattanooga – and you don’t want to miss out on the fun! From magic shows and food festivals to live performances and highly anticipated triathlons, there’s sure to be an event for anyone and everyone.

September 1

Headliner Jemere Morgan brings his unique style of reggae music as Nightfall wraps up its concert series at Miller Plaza. Rapper, Swayyvo opens the show at 7 PM. The event is free to the public and is sure to make you want to shake it on the green. Check out handmade artisan goods and food trucks starting at 6 PM. 

Magic Show at the MACC

September 2

Abracadabra! Step into the magical realm with Evan Dupree’s spellbinding illusions, daring escapes, and immersive magic. You have two opportunities to watch the show; 11am and 2pm. This will take place at Mountain Arts Community Center (MACC) in Signal Mountain TN. Prior to the show, join in on the “Flapper and Tap’R” festival from 10 AM to 4 PM. Tickets available here.

Gladys Knight in Concert

September 6

When legends like Gladys Knight grace the stage, it’s more than a concert, it’s an experience! Head to the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium at 7:30 PM to witness the artistry that’s earned her seven Grammys and timeless fame. Tickets are limited, get them here.

National Treasures: Party at Point Park

September 7

Head Point Park during the Party at Point Park event. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., indulge in music by The New Dismembered Tennesseans, snap memorable photos at Umbrella Rock, savor a barbecue feast, and partake in various activities and prize opportunities. Support the mission of National Park Partners to conserve Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park’s treasured resources.

Moon River Music Festival

September 9-10

Yes, the Moon River Festival is sold out. However, there is a waitlist you can join. Hosted by Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors, the event promises captivating headline performances from stellar artists, Hozier and Caamp. Also the dynamic duo, JOHNNYSWIM, will make an appearance on Saturday night along with Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors.

Dinosaur Day at the Chattanooga Lookouts

September 16

Don’t miss your chance to catch a baseball game before the season wraps up. Cheer on the Chattanooga Lookouts, our city’s minor league team, as they face off against the Birmingham Barons at 7:15 PM. As an added bonus, it’s also ‘Dino Day’ courtesy of Ed’s Dinosaur Live. And remember, post-game, young fans can gather at sections 104/105 for a chance to run the bases!

Apple Festival at the Chattanooga Market

September 17

Take a bite out of autumn and visit the Apple Festival at the Chattanooga Market. Try out a range of apple-inspired delights, from savory pies and strudels to aromatic candles and lotions. Plus, discover fresh local produce and handcrafted treasures. Join the celebration between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the First Horizon Pavilion.

Bacon & Barrel Festival

September 21

Savor innovative bacon-infused dishes, groove to live music, converse with master distillers, and indulge in an exquisite range of bourbons and whiskeys at The Bacon and Barrel Festival. The event takes place from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Tickets include access to all areas of the event, unlimited food tastings, and 15 whiskey tastings. Chattanooga Taco Festival

September 23

Let’s taco bout the Chattanooga Taco Festival happening at Camp Jordan on September 23 through 24. Satisfy your cravings with a plethora of food trucks showcasing savory and delectably sweet tacos that are bound to tantalize your taste buds. Running from 10 AM to 4 PM, the festivities also feature inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides, trackless train adventures, and lively entertainment. Join in the excitement and rally behind the triathletes at IRONMAN Chattanooga, proudly sponsored by McKee – A Family Bakery. Watch as they conquer a 2.4-mile swim in the Tennessee River, navigate a 116-mile bike course through North Georgia, and execute a dynamic double-loop run in downtown Chattanooga, culminating at Ross’s Landing. While you’re free to pick any spot along the route, premium viewing locations are highlighted here.
