SUMMARY:Armed Forces Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:Marking its 77th year in 2026\, the annual Armed Forces Day Parade is the longest continuous armed forces parade in the nation. Hosted by Chattanooga Area Veterans Council (CAVC)\, the parade features participants from military service units\, area veterans’ groups\, high school bands and all area JROTC units\, patriotic organizations\, and many others. Each year\, the parade highlights a different service branch. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on May 1\, the parade will start at the intersection of Market Street and MLK Boulevard\, featuring a tribute to all branches of the United States Armed Forces but with special recognition in 2026 to the United States Coast Guard. Look for military dignitaries representing the sixth active branch along with the U.S. Army\, Navy\, Marines\, Air Force\, and Coast Guard active-duty troops and veterans. Community groups are encouraged to participate for free in the parade – walking or riding – by contacting the CAVC.

Featured on the inner label is also the image of Oxossi\, a guardian of nature. Drums and fire and a ritual that beckons the summoning of ancestor spirits\, a burning fuel that defies the darkness\, SOULFLY ventures into these sacred spaces where few other metal bands dare to tread. The album kicks off with an intro track\, ‘Indigenous Inquisition’\, an homage to the genocide and extinction of the original American people\, as Max hauntingly recites the names of long forgotten tribes\, a proclamation to the bloodshed and warrior pulse of those wrongfully persecuted. An uprising for the underdogs\, a home for the homeless\, peace for the war afflicted. The song remains insane. \nKing Parrot\nMetal\nKing Parrot is a five piece band from Melbourne\, Australia. King Parrot specializes in grind core\, thrash metal and punk rock genre’s and have been operational since 2010. \nThe band consists of Matthew Young on vocals\, Ari White on guitar\, Andrew Squires on guitar\, Wayne Slattery on bass and Todd Hansen on drums. \nThe five members of King Parrot are accomplished musicians on the Australian scene and have toured internationally since 2014\, completing 18 tours overseas in North America\, Europe and Asia.

DESCRIPTION:Curren$y\nHip-Hop/Rap \nBorn Shante Anthony Franklin and raised in New Orleans\, Curren$y was originally signed to Master P’s No Limit label\, but in 2005 he made the move to Lil Wayne and Birdman’s Cash Money imprint\, Young Money. He appeared on Wayne’s Tha Carter II album that same year\, then in 2006\, Curren$y’s “Where da Cash At” single was released — both on its own and as part of Wayne’s Dedication 2 mixtape — but a promised album never materialized. Not one to sit idle\, Curren$y started Fly Society with professional skateboarder Terry Kennedy in 2007. The brand was originally planned as a line of apparel\, but evolved into a music label as the rapper’s relationship with Young Money soured. \nAfter leaving the label at the end of 2007 with Fly Society in tow\, a series of underground mixtapes appeared before Curren$y hooked up with the digital-only Amalgam Digital for the early 2009 release This Ain’t No Mixtape. The relationship continued that October with the download-only Jet Files\, but in early 2010 he joined the Def Jam family via Damon Dash’s DD172 imprint. With the label’s in-house producer Ski Beatz handling most of the production on both\, Curren$y’s Pilot Talk album appeared in July of that year\, with Pilot Talk II landing in 2010. The stopgap release Weekend at Burnie’s followed in 2011\, with the retro backing tracks coming from producer Monsta Beatz. Beatz\, along with the J.U.S.T.I.C.E.
