Join us at The Edwin Hotel for a special Artist in Residence weekend featuring acclaimed artist Bonny Burbank Shuptrine of The Painted Dress. Throughout the weekend, Bonny will be painting in the hotel’s common areas, offering guests a unique opportunity to observe her process, learn about her techniques, and engage in conversation about her work.
Known for her richly textured paintings of gowns, wedding dresses, and christening garments, Bonny captures the elegance and emotion of life’s most meaningful moments. Using layered acrylics, oils, pearlized pigments, gold leaf, and metallic elements, her work brings fabric to life—each fold and detail telling a story.
With a background in fashion, Bonny draws inspiration from the beauty of couture design and the memories woven into special attire. “Apparel is often tucked away after an event,” she shares, “but through painting, those moments can be brought back into daily life—celebrated and remembered.”
Guests are invited to stop by, watch live demonstrations, ask questions, and experience the intersection of fine art and fashion in an intimate, welcoming setting.
