SUMMARY:Rock & Smock
DESCRIPTION:Rock and Smock is a free\, one-day public event where live artists and rock climbers share the boulders of Rockmont Park\, the South’s largest natural urban bouldering park\, minutes from downtown Chattanooga at the base of Lookout Mountain. \nClimbers work the boulders while experienced painters set up across the park and respond to the rock\, the light\, and the movement around them. It’s a rare chance to watch two creative disciplines happen in the same space. \nVisitors can simply watch\, or try it themselves. Free art materials and climbing gear (crash pads\, shoes\, and chalk) will be on hand\, with experienced practitioners to help first-timers. There’s no admission and no experience needed.  Rock & Smock is open to all ages and levels. \nBring water\, wear clothes you don’t mind getting chalky or painty\, and come try something new. If you have your own bouldering gear or art supplies – bring ’em! \nAll artists\, climbers and community members are invited to participate or simply hang out and take in the sites. We’re excited to see what you create and climb! \nPresented with Lookout Mountain Conservancy and funded by an ArtsBuild Artists Work Grant. Free raffle items sponsored by Crux Gear\, Rhino Skin Care Solutions\, Go Crimp\, BLICK Art Materials\, Community Gains and Gunk Apps
