Herbal Tinctures 101
Herbalism can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. What if you could make your own herbal remedies for your friends and family? What if it didn’t have to be overly complicated? Join Alysia Leon, the herbalist of Bird Fork Farm, to gain a solid foundation in what is and what is not an herbal tincture, herbal tincture preparation, harvesting and wildcrafting tips, sourcing recommendations, straining, and dosing tricks. During this approximately 3 hour long hands-on course we will learn the ins and outs of how and why to tincture, the different types of herbal tincture making, and how to source ethically and locally. We will then harvest fresh plant material from the farm to make your own herbal tincture to take home.
Iced herbal teas will be provided and the apothecary will be open to shop.
Please wear closed toed-shoes, and bring: scissors, sunscreen, a pop-up chair if you have one, a water bottle, and a notebook. Feel free to bring snacks if you’d like. This class will be outside.
