NG3C 14th Annual Shootout Photography Competition

Announcing the North Georgia Camera Club Council’s (NG3C) 14th Annual Shootout in Rome, Georgia.

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, photographers from Georgia and Tennessee will descend on Berry College in Rome, Georgia to participate in the NG3C’s Fourteenth Annual Shootout photography competition.

NG3C sponsors the annual juried competition for amateur and professional photographers. The Council membership consists of many camera clubs from North Georgia and East Tennessee. As this is a competition between camera clubs, photographers must have membership in one of the clubs to participate in the event. The event will be held at Berry College in Rome, GA starting at 8:00 a.m. Participants will be tasked with photographing subject matter illustrating randomly chosen topics from five photographic categories: Technique, Composition, Nature, Architecture, and Conceptual Photography. Following the assignment of topics, photographers will spread out into the community to create images for the competition.

Each club will submit its best entries to NG3C by 2:00 p.m. There will be lectures and door prizes through the afternoon whilst the images are being judged and ranked. The winning photographs and the photographers along with their clubs will be announced at an awards program held at 5:00 p.m.

The fall shootout will be a boon to local businesses. Competing photographers often visit the host cities in advance of the event, patronizing restaurants, hotels and other establishments in the area.

In the Chattanooga area, the Photographic Society of Chattanooga will be registering participants for its Shootout team. PSC members have participated in the NG3C Shootout for several years, and even hosted it in 2017. A generous donation has been made to PSC to cover the participant fees, so any club member can participate in the NG3C Shootout for free.
