The Center for Mindful Living’s 2-Part Spring Fundraising Event

May 6 + May 8

This 2-part Spring Fundraising Event features in-person interactive experiences alongside an engaging virtual meditation practice with Julie L. Brown, a licensed psychotherapist, consultant, meditation teacher, and one of the founders of the Center, and Sue Reynolds, a long time yoga instructor and founder of the first yoga studio in Chattanooga.

The Center for Mindful Living and Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center announce their partnership to cultivate connection and community healing through nature and mindfulness. This is an opportunity to celebrate the ability to come together again and create a new path for mindfulness in our community.

About the Spring 2021 Fundraiser:

Although we are beginning to come out of the pandemic and host more in-person classes, we still need help from our community to sustain the Center. Unfortunately, it isn’t quite time to gather in one large group, so this year we have decided to do something a little different! We have taken pieces from previous events and built a socially distanced 2-part event to connect, learn, and celebrate.

“Reflect + Center” will include a virtual event on Thursday, May 6th and in-person mindfulness activities at Reflection Riding on Saturday, May 8th.

The Thursday event will kick off with a ‘Tea Ceremony’ and community conversation at 5pm led by Maggie White. The main programming will begin at 5:30pm and feature a contemplative reading and meditation with Julie L. Brown and Sue Reynolds. In this sitting meditation with Sue and Julie we will invite our hope and healing by honoring our heartbreak and grief with gentleness, compassion, and mindful movement.

On Saturday from 1-4pm you can expect multiple stations with some of our experienced facilitators at Reflection Riding’s beautiful Nature Center. Experience a little bit of everything we have to offer with yoga, seated meditation, five-senses mindfulness walk, a singing bowl immersive experience, and tours of Reflection Riding.

*The In-Person Event will be capped at 40 attendees in order to practice safe social distancing in small groups and held outdoors. In accordance with CDC guidelines, all participants will wear a mask at Center for Mindful Living activities. If seated 6 feet apart, participants may remove their mask during the practice. Instructors will wear a mask while instructing, unless outdoors and able to properly social distance. This is a rain or shine event. However, if there is severe weather, the event will be hosted virtually. You will be notified via email no less than 2 hours prior to the event. No refunds will be provided.
