Red Bank runs alongside Highway 27, providing residents with access to downtown Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, and thoroughfares that lead to Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham, and Atlanta.
Supermarket chain Food City can be found in the heart of Red Bank, as can Bread and Butter – a locally owned bakery specializing in artisan bread and a variety of local products. Walmart Neighborhood Market is a short drive away, and even more grocery options, including Publix and Whole Foods, can be reached in nearby Northshore.
Before adopting its present name, Red Bank was known as Pleasant Hill. However, the name was already taken, and when a post office was established in 1881, the community was asked to find a new moniker.
