One-of-a-Kind Boutiques Meet Big Box Stores

Chattanooga is a great place to be if you’re in the mood to shop ‘til you drop. Whether you’re looking for a one-stop shopping experience at a mall or an opportunity to window-shop your way through one of Chattanooga’s trendy neighborhoods, there’s some-
thing here for you.

Hamilton Place

Hamilton Place Mall, conveniently located just off I-75, has turned the East Brainerd area into a major shopping hub. The mall offers over 1 million square feet of retail space and is anchored by Belk, Dillard’s, and JCPenney. Other major retailers, such as Barnes & Noble and Dick’s Sporting Goods, are also on-site, and those looking for arcade games or a sports bar environment can head on over to Dave & Buster’s. Stores specializing in beauty, electronics, toys, accessories, and footwear can also be found in the mall. Surrounding the mall are further outparcel retail options such as Hamilton Corner, Hamilton Crossing, The Shoppes at Hamilton Place, and Hamilton Village. Popular jewelers Markman’s and Fink’s are also in the area, and specialty grocers such as The Fresh Market and Trader Joe’s can be found nearby as well. There are extensive dining options both inside the mall and around it, ranging from upscale steakhouses such as Ruth’s Chris and J. Alexander’s to more unique eats like Acropolis Grill and Dos Bros.

Northgate

For those in the Hixson area looking to get some retail therapy in, visit Northgate Mall, Hamilton Place’s sister property. The mall offers shopping destinations for apparel, accessories, entertainment, and more; Bath & Body Works, Belk, Burlington, and Hibbett Sports are some of the most-visited stores inside the mall, while just outside, retailers such as ULTA Beauty, T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, Ross Dress for Less, and Michael’s Arts and Crafts draw in area shoppers. Dining options abound both inside and outside the mall, and those looking to catch a movie after a shopping day are in luck with the AMC Classic Northgate 14 cineplex. Hixson is also home to big box stores including Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Walmart, and book and entertainment retailer 2nd & Charles.

Warehouse Row

These historical buildings that housed Chattanooga’s burgeoning local industry at the turn of the 20th century now make up Warehouse Row, a shopping complex that hosts a variety of local boutiques, eateries, and other retail offerings. For those in search of apparel, boutiques such as Embellish, Hemline, Onward Reserve, lululemon athletica, Anthropologie, and J. Crew have refined selections for your perusal. Options in eyewear, cosmetics, and home furnishings are also available. Whether you’re in search of a cup of coffee or a full farm-to-table meal, there’s a dining option that will suit your needs.

West Village

Those in search of an afternoon shopping in a trendy setting are in luck with West Village, a vibrant district near the City Center. From chic salon The Strand to upscale clothier Antibes to artisan florist Fox & Fern, West Village is sure to offer a unique retail experience. Top off your visit with an elegant meal from Easy Bistro, Old Gilman Grill, or Alimentari, or stop by Pinkberry if you’re craving a frozen treat.

Northshore

Though the Scenic City abounds with shopping centers and mixed-use developments, excellent retail options can also be found throughout Chattanooga’s various neighborhoods. The Northshore area hosts the NorthShore Merchants Collective, which provides an eclectic mix of shopping, dining, and other services. Outdoor shopping strips such as One North Shore, 2 North Shore, and Signal Mill feature boutiques, sports and outdoor stores, salons, and even shopping options for children and pets. Those looking for locally sourced gifts can stop at the Boxcar General Store or Locals Only Gifts & Goods, and those with an appetite can find dining options that range from local coffee shops and ice cream to sushi and barbecue.

Riverview

A short distance from Northshore is Riverview, a neighborhood that boasts a variety of small businesses and restaurants. Those in search of trendy clothing can stop at The Blue Collection, while those looking for gifts can visit The Book & Cover, an independent bookstore, or The Mustard Seed Gifts. Dining options range from a vegan smoothie at Southern Squeeze to elevated Italian at Il Primo.

Downtown Chattanooga

On the other side of the river, City Center has a selection of upscale jewelers and clothiers, including Yacoubian Tailors, Bruce Baird & Co., and Fischer Evans Jewelers. Local specialty items and gifts can be found at the Moonpie General Store, and the city’s Southside neighborhood is filled with shops that offer art, antiques, and home furnishings.

Cambridge Square

Mixed-use development Cambridge Square has become a major shopping and dining hub in Ooltewah. Women’s and children’s apparel can be found at one of the development’s boutiques, and a hair salon, florist, and photography studio are on-site as well. An abundance of dining options is also present, including 1885 Grill, Wine Down Bistro & Lounge, Lupi’s Pizza Pies, Davis Wayne’s, and more. Many medical and financial services offices are also in the area.

Downtown Cleveland

The downtown Cleveland area, just northeast of Chattanooga, features a diverse collection of boutiques, stores, and restaurants. Options for women’s apparel and bridal wear dot the area, and shoppers can also find home décor, jewelry, outdoor gear, footwear, and gifts when they browse downtown. A variety of restaurants and cafés line the streets as well, from coffee shops and burger joints to elevated seafood and Italian eateries.

Bradley Square Mall

This mall in Cleveland offers residents a convenient place to shop and dine. Visitors can browse for apparel and accessories at American Eagle, Belk, and Claire’s, and footwear and athletic gear are stocked at Hibbett Sports, Dunham’s, and Shoe Dept. The mall also features an AMC theater, and retailers such as T.J. Maxx, ULTA Beauty, Five Below, PetSmart, and Rack Room Shoes can be found just outside the mall.
