One-of-a-Kind Boutiques Meet Big Box Stores

Whether you’re in the mood to buy, or just browse, consider Chattanooga for all your shopping needs. From sprawling department stores to stylish boutiques, the following offerings provide some serious retail therapy.

Hamilton Place

Conveniently located just off I-75 in East Brainerd, Hamilton Place Mall makes for an obvious stop. This two-story shopping center houses department stores Belk, Dillard’s, and JCPenney, necessities like Barnes & Noble, and popular clothing brands including Ann Taylor, H&M, and White House | Black Market, all under one roof. Shops specializing in accessories, health and beauty, shoes, and electronics, as well as plenty of restaurants, can also be found. The mall is surrounded by Hamilton Corner, Hamilton Crossing, The Shoppes at Hamilton Place, and Hamilton Village, which provide even more retail options. Fink’s Jewelers and Markman’s are popular jewelers in the area, while Kirkland’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, and World Market supply home furnishings and décor. Area eateries including Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Acropolis Grill, Bonefish Grill, The Cheesecake Factory, J. Alexander’s, and many more cater to families and foodies alike.

Northgate

Hixson residents can take advantage of Northgate Mall, Hamilton Place’s sister property, located right off Highway 153. This shopping destination provides accessories, apparel, cosmetics, entertainment, and much more. Bath & Body Works, Belk, Burlington, and Hibbett Sports are some of the most-visited stores inside the mall, while just outside, retailers such as ULTA Beauty, T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, Ross Dress for Less, and Michaels Arts and Crafts draw in savvy shoppers. Multiple dining options are available inside and outside the mall. Hixson is also home to big box stores including Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Staples, and Party City.

Warehouse Row

Southside’s industrial-chic complex Warehouse Row is the place to go. Boutiques include Embellish, lululemon athletica, J. Crew, Onward Reserve, Hemline, and Anthropologie. Shops selling everything from cosmetics and eyewear to home furnishings and stationery complete the retail scene. Warehouse Row also invites visitors to dine in with local and regional favorites serving artisanal drinks, Japanese fusion, and Southern staples.

West Village

Also located near the City Center is the vibrant West Village shopping district. Customers have access to everything from a stylish salon and trendy boutique to an artisan florist, and there’s no shortage of restaurant offerings. Tasty treats such as frozen yogurt and gourmet coffee can be easily enjoyed on the go, and more elegant meals can be found at eateries such as Alimentari, Easy Bistro, or Old Gilman Grill.

Northshore

There are plenty of locally owned stores and unique retailers to frequent in the Scenic City. In addition to being a hotbed for popular restaurants, the Northshore neighborhood has a thriving retail scene with a diverse mix of small businesses. Outdoor shopping strips, including One North Shore, 2 North Shore, and Signal Mill on Manufacturers Road, are always bustling, while nearby, Frazier Avenue and Cherokee Boulevard offer up an array of unique boutiques and local stores. Among many classic shops in the area are Sophie’s Shoppe and Plum Nelly, featuring gift items, and high-end clothier K :: A Boutique by Katherine Roberts. Also conveniently located are shoe stores, salons, spas, bookstores, and more.

Riverview

Not far away in Riverview, tree-lined streets are dotted with small businesses such as Alice Blue, Hanover Blue, Electric Blue, The Clay Pot, Studio B-3, Danshire Market & Design, and The Mustard Seed Gifts, just to name a few.

Downtown Chattanooga

Across the river, City Center offers some of the city’s finest jewelers and upscale clothiers, among them Yacoubian Tailors, Bruce Baird & Co., and Giorgio Men’s Warehouse. The Southside neighborhood is ripe with trendy boutiques, art galleries, gift shops, and the Chattanooga Market.

Cambridge Square

Cambridge Square, a mixed-use development in Ooltewah, is an ever-growing commercial center filled with specialty shops and local restaurants. Tenants range from a med spa and yoga studio to a DIY wood sign workshop and boutiques for clothing and home décor. 1885 Grill, Fulin’s Asian Cuisine, and Valley Flowers – a full-service floral boutique – have joined the Cambridge Square lineup in recent years. Many medical and financial services offices are also in the area.

Downtown Cleveland

North of Chattanooga, downtown Cleveland features charming boutiques, local shops, and favorite restaurants. Element and Ever After Bridal are fashion favorites, while antique, beauty, and home furniture shops round out downtown’s more eclectic offerings. The area’s historic buildings are full of character and house numerous places to eat and drink – from quaint cafés to well-loved coffee shops.

Bradley Square Mall

Cleveland’s Bradley Square Mall offers residents a convenient place to shop and dine. National staples include Belk, American Eagle, Dicehead Games, and Dunham’s Sports. Right outside the mall sits retailers such as T.J. Maxx, ULTA Beauty, Five Below, PetSmart, and Rack Room Shoes.
