One-of-a-Kind Boutiques Meet Big Box Stores

Whether window shopping your way through one of the Scenic City’s trendy neighborhoods or checking off your gift list at one of several malls in the area, Chattanooga has no shortage of options for a little retail therapy.

Hamilton Place

No Scenic City shopping spree is complete without swinging by Hamilton Place Mall. Located just off I-75 in East Brainerd, this major shopping hub offers 1 million square feet of retail space and houses large department stores like Belk, Dillard’s, and JCPenney, as well as many other retailers, such as Barnes & Noble and DICK’S Sporting Goods. There’s fun for the whole family at Dave & Buster’s arcade, while everyone will find something to browse among the beauty products, toys, electronics, footwear, and accessories available in specialty stores. Several outdoor shopping centers surround Hamilton Place Mall, such as Hamilton Corner, Hamilton Crossing, Hamilton Village, and The Shoppes at Hamilton Place. Several high-end jewelers, including Markman’s and Fink’s, are in the area, as well as popular grocers such as Trader Joe’s and The Fresh Market. Dining options abound within the mall and in the area, from upscale steakhouses J. Alexander’s and Ruth’s Chris to more casual fare like Acropolis Grill and Hana Steak & Sushi.

Northgate

Shoppers in the Hixson area can visit Northgate Mall, Hamilton Place’s sister property. With major retailers like Belk, Bath & Body Works, and Hibbett Sports, the mall also offers smaller specialty stores like Chattanooga Yarn Co., For the Record, and The Funkey Munkey Market, which features local crafters. There are several dining options in and around the mall, as well as an AMC CLASSIC movie theater. Just outside, you’ll find T.J. Maxx, Michaels, and Ross Dress for Less. You can also find other big box stores in the Hixson area, including Lowe’s, Home Depot, Target, Walmart, and 2nd & Charles.

Warehouse Row

Originally a fort during the Civil War, the buildings of Warehouse Row stand as a testament to Chattanooga’s rich history of industry. Now revitalized as a chic shopping center, shoppers can browse local shops and innovative eateries housed in these historic buildings. Peruse one-of-a-kind apparel at boutiques like Embellish, Hemline, and Onward Reserve, or visit larger brands like lululemon athletica, Anthropologie, Madewell, and J. Crew. Other retailers offer options for home furnishings, cosmetics, and eyewear. For shoppers who work up an appetite, Warehouse Row provides several dining options, including locally roasted coffee, a full farm-to-table meal, and a Japanese-inspired pub.

West Village

Not far from the city center, West Village is a vibrant district offering several upscale options for the downtown shopper. This neighborhood features the trendy clothier Antibes, artisan florist Fox & Fern, and chic salon The Strand. Complement your shopping spree with an elegant meal from one of the popular West Village restaurants, such as Easy Bistro, Alimentari Cucina, and Old Gilman Grill, or check out a nearby eatery for coffee, sweet treats, tacos, or late-night drinks.

Northshore

While Chattanooga boasts many shopping centers and mixed-use developments, don’t overlook the excellent retail options throughout the city’s various neighborhoods. In the trendy Northshore area, the NorthShore Merchants Collective along with several other shops provide an eclectic mix of shopping, dining, salons, and other services. You can find outdoors and sports stores, boutiques, and even shops for your children and pets in the various outdoor shopping strips at One North Shore, 2 North Shore, and Signal Mill. Find one-of-a-kind, handmade gifts at Locals Only Gifts & Goods, or shop unique vintage attire at Collective Clothing. There are plenty of dining options to stave off your hunger, from local coffee shops and ice cream to barbecue, sushi, and fine dining at Frazier Five & Dime and Zaya 1943 Korean Steakhouse.

Riverview

Riverview is a charming neighborhood just a short drive from Northshore and is home to local small businesses and restaurants. Find luxury apparel for men and women at The Blue Collection, or peruse the shelves of The Book & Cover, an independent bookstore. Danshire Market and Design supplies a variety of home décor and signature gifts, while Queens Kitchen & Market offers up local produce and imported grocery items to help you level up dinner night. Be sure to check out the restaurants here too, such as Southern Squeeze and Il Primo.

Downtown Chattanooga

On the south side of the river, City Center is home to upscale jewelers and clothiers like Yacoubian Tailors, Bruce Baird & Co., and Fischer Evans Jewelers. You can also find the MoonPie General Store with local MoonPies and retro gifts. Crossing further into the city’s Southside neighborhood, there are a variety of shops offering art, antiques, home furnishings, and more.

Cambridge Square

Cambridge Square, a mixed-use neighborhood in Ooltewah, is a popular dining and shopping hub for the area. Shoppers here will find boutiques, jewelers, a florist, and a photography studio alongside medical and financial services. Cambridge Square hosts an abundance of restaurants, such as Lupi’s Pizza Pies, Tasty Donuts, Wine Down Bistro & Lounge, and more.

Downtown Cleveland

Away from the hustle and bustle of Chattanooga, downtown Cleveland offers a unique collection of boutiques, restaurants, and other retail options. Shoppers can find bridal wear and women’s apparel as well as home décor, jewelry, gifts, and specialty items like quilting supplies and running gear. There are several dining options, from bistros to elevated seafood and Mediterranean fare.

Bradley Square Mall

Bradley Square Mall is a popular shopping hub in Cleveland, offering boutiques alongside major clothing retailers such as Belk and Claire’s, as well as athletic gear and footwear at Dunham’s Sports, Shoe Dept., and Hibbett Sports. The mall also has an AMC CLASSIC movie theater, while a nearby outdoor shopping area houses retailers like T.J. Maxx, Ulta Beauty, Rack Room Shoes, and more.
