One-of-a-Kind Boutiques Meet Big Box Stores

Between Chattanooga’s malls and multiple trendy neighborhoods, there are plenty of opportunities for a little retail therapy, whether you’re looking for a one-stop opportunity to get everything on your list or a full day of window shopping and boutiques.

Hamilton Place

Just off I-75, Hamilton Place Mall is the major shopping hub in East Brainerd. Offering over 1 million square feet of retail space, the mall is home to large department stores like Belk, Dillard’s, and JCPenney as well as many other retailers, including Barnes & Noble and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Those looking for arcade games can head over to Dave & Buster’s, and specialty stores featuring beauty, toys, electronics, footwear, and accessories can also be found in the mall. Surrounding the mall are outparcels like Hamilton Corner, Hamilton Crossing, Hamilton Village, and The Shoppes at Hamilton Place. Markman’s and Fink’s jewelers are also in the area along with grocers like Trader Joe’s and The Fresh Market. Dining options abound both in the mall and around it, from upscale steakhouses J. Alexander’s and Ruth’s Chris to more casual fare like Acropolis Grill and Hana Steak & Sushi.

Northgate

For those in the Hixson area looking for a day of shopping, there’s Hamilton Place’s sister property, Northgate Mall. With options for apparel, entertainment, accessories, and more, the mall is anchored by Belk and Burlington. Bath & Body Works and Hibbett Sports are popular destinations, and the mall also features smaller specialty stores like Chattanooga Yarn Co. and For the Record. Just outside, you’ll find ULTA Beauty, T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, Ross Dress for Less, and Michaels. For those looking to catch a movie, AMC Classic Northgate 14 offers plenty of options, and there are many restaurants in and around the mall. You can also find big box stores in the Hixson area, including Lowe’s, Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, Walmart, and 2nd & Charles.

Warehouse Row

Originally a fort during the Civil War that was then transformed into a warehouse district at the turn of the 20th century, Warehouse Row is now a destination shopping center offering local shops, eateries, and other retail offerings. Area boutiques like Embellish, Hemline, and Onward Reserve, as well as larger brands like lululemon athletica, Anthropologie, and J. Crew, offer apparel for any occasion. There are also options for home furnishings, cosmetics, and eyewear. If you’re looking for a spot with locally roasted coffee, a full farm-to-table meal, or a Japanese-inspired pub, you’ll find it at Warehouse Row.

West Village

West Village is a great complement to a day of shopping in downtown Chattanooga, featuring the trendy, upscale boutique Antibes, artisan florist Fox & Fern, and chic salon The Strand. There are several date night-worthy restaurants to choose from, including Easy Bistro, Alimentari Cucina, and Old Gilman Grill, as well as options for coffee, sweet treats, and late night drinks.

Northshore

Shopping centers and mixed-use developments are common in Chattanooga, but there are also excellent retail options throughout Chattanooga’s neighborhoods. In the trendy Northshore area, the NorthShore Merchants Collective along with several other shops provide an eclectic mix of shopping, dining, salons, and other services. At One North Shore, 2 NorthShore, and Signal Mill, all outdoor shopping strips, you can find outdoors and sports stores, salons, boutiques, and even options for children and furry friends. If you’re searching for local and handmade gifts, check out Boxcar General Store or Locals Only Gifts & Goods, or if you’re looking for one-of-a-kind vintage apparel, try Collective Clothing. If you’re hungry after all that shopping, there are dining options from local coffee shops and ice cream to barbecue, sushi, and fine dining at Frazier Five & Dime and Zaya 1943 Korean Steakhouse.

Riverview

Just a couple of miles from Northshore is Riverview, a charming neighborhood with local small businesses and restaurants. The Blue Collection offers luxury apparel for men and women, The Book & Cover, an independent bookstore, features books and gifts, and Danshire Market and Design offers a variety of home décor and gifts. There are plenty of delicious dining options here too, including Southern Squeeze and Il Primo.

Downtown Chattanooga

On the south side of the river, City Center is home to upscale jewelers and clothiers like Yacoubian Tailors, Bruce Baird & Co., and Fischer Evans Jewelers. You can also find the Moonpie General Store with local moonpies and retro gifts. Crossing further into the city’s Southside neighborhood, there are a variety of shops offering art, antiques, home furnishings, and more.

Cambridge Square

Cambridge Square, a mixed-use development in Ooltewah, is a major dining and shopping hub for the area. Boutiques, a florist, and a photography studio are some of the shops on offer, along with medical and financial services and an abundance of restaurants ranging from Lupi’s Pizza Pies to Tasty Donuts to Wine Down Bistro & Lounge, and many more.

Downtown Cleveland

Northeast of Chattanooga, downtown Cleveland features a distinctive collection of stores, restaurants, and boutiques. Shoppers can find bridal wear and women’s apparel as well as home décor, outdoor gear, footwear, jewelry, gifts, and specialty items like quilting supplies and comic books. Restaurants and cafés dot the streets as well, including everything from coffee shops to elevated seafood and Italian fare.

Bradley Square Mall

Cleveland’s mall offers convenient dining and shopping with major accessory and clothing retailers such as American Eagle, Belk, and Claire’s, plus athletic gear and footwear at Dunham’s Sports, Shoe Dept., and Hibbett Sports. The mall also has an AMC theater, and just outside the mall, you can find T.J. Maxx, ULTA Beauty, PetSmart, Rack Room Shoes, and more.
