East Brainerd is near Volkswagen’s North American assembly plant and an Amazon distribution facility, which collectively employ thousands of people. Other notable employers in the area include Plastic Omnium, ADM, Gestamp, Wrigley Manufacturing Company, CBL Properties, Schnellecke Logistics, Astec Industries, U.S. Xpress, Cigna, and a T-Mobile call center.

East Brainerd residents are located near I-75, I-59, and I-24, allowing for convenient access to Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, and Knoxville. The area also has quick access to the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and downtown Chattanooga.

Elementary-aged students can attend East Brainerd Elementary and Westview Elementary before graduating to East Hamilton Middle and East Hamilton High School. The area is also home to magnet school Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts as well as several private institutions – among them are Grace Academy, Silverdale Baptist Academy, St. Nicholas School, and Standifer Gap SDA School. Regal Hamilton Place is a movie theater that operates in East Brainerd. Located in Hamilton Place Mall, Dave & Buster’s is the perfect spot to play arcade games while catching the latest game on TV. Some of the area’s most popular destinations for entertainment include DEFY Chattanooga (trampoline park), Splitz Alley (bowling), and Breakout Games (escape rooms).

Featuring over 1 million square feet of retailers and restaurants, Hamilton Place Mall has been a fixture in East Brainerd for over three decades. Here, you’ll find department stores Belk, Dillard’s, and JCPenney alongside specialty shops such as H&M, Barnes & Noble, and Altar’d State. Located nearby, Hamilton Corner, Hamilton Crossing, Terrace at Hamilton Place, and Shoppes at Hamilton Place provide even more shopping opportunities. Whole Foods, Publix, and a brand-new Trader Joe’s are some of the area’s go-to grocers, while Lookout Farmers Market sells local food and products every Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church.

Audubon Acres – Chattanooga’s oldest wildlife sanctuary – offers hiking trails and water access to the South Chickamauga Creek.
