East Brainerd is near Volkswagen’s North American assembly plant and an Amazon distribution facility, which collectively employ thousands of people. Other notable employers in the area include Plastic Omnium, ADM, Gestamp, Wrigley Manufacturing Company, CBL Properties, Schnellecke Logistics, Astec Industries, U.S. Xpress, Cigna, and a T-Mobile call center.

East Brainerd residents are located near I-75, I-59, and I-24, allowing for convenient access to Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham, and Knoxville. The area also has quick access to the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and downtown Chattanooga.

Elementary-aged students can attend East Brainerd Elementary and Westview Elementary before graduating to East Hamilton Middle and East Hamilton High School. The area is also home to magnet school Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts as well as several private institutions – among them are Grace Academy, Silverdale Baptist Academy, St. Nicholas School, and Standifer Gap SDA School.

Numerous medical and wellness facilities are available on Gunbarrel and East Brainerd roads, the main thoroughfares for this area. The full-service Erlanger East Hospital provides easy access to surgical, emergency, heart, stroke, cancer, and pediatrics care, and Parkridge East Hospital and two campuses of Parkridge Valley are also close by. For those seeking therapy services, Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation’s Outpatient Therapy Services has an East Brainerd location. Regal Hamilton Place is the go-to spot to catch a movie in East Brainerd. For family fun, check out Splitz Alley (bowling), Breakout Games (escape rooms), and Urban Air Adventure Park and DEFY Chattanooga (trampoline parks). Located in Hamilton Place Mall, Dave & Buster’s is a major entertainment destination with a massive arcade, virtual reality, and large-screen TVs for sports fans.

Featuring over 1 million square feet of retailers and restaurants, Hamilton Place Mall has been a fixture in East Brainerd since 1987. Anchored by department stores Belk, Dillard’s, and JCPenney, the two-story mall is also home to specialty stores such as H&M and Barnes & Noble. Located nearby, Hamilton Corner, Hamilton Crossing, The Terrace at Hamilton Place, and The Shoppes at Hamilton Place provide even more shopping opportunities. Whole Foods, Publix, and Trader Joe’s are some of the area’s most frequented grocers.

Both upscale and discount grocery chains are not hard to come by in East Brainerd. Stores such as Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and The Fresh Market stock natural and organic grocery items, and even more options can be found at Publix, Walmart Supercenter, ALDI, and Food City. The visitor center museum at Audubon Acres holds one of the area’s largest collections of Native American artifacts. Featured pieces were gathered in the Brainerd area and as far away as Russell Cave in North Alabama.
