Organized in 1953, AIA Chattanooga is the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects, a national professional organization with more than 98,000 members. AIA Chattanooga’s mission is to serve its members and the community by providing a collective voice for the architecture profession while growing a culture of sustainable design in Chattanooga. The organization provides continuing education to meet professional requirements for all members, as well as resources including Architecture Week, advocacy training, Committee on the Environment (COTE), and mentor and mentee opportunities. AIA Chatta-nooga supports local K-12 graders with summer design camp, scholarships, and free after-school architecture programs. They also provide yearly scholarship contributions to multiple local and state college and university drafting, design, and architectural programs.
