Formed in 1909 by a multiracial group of progressive thinkers, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is a nonprofit organization established with the objective of ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of minority groups. The organization fuels volunteers across the United States who drive culture and change. The mission of the NAACP is to eliminate racial prejudice and remove all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes.
