The Southeast Tennessee Development District is a special purpose government unit, owned and governed by local county and municipal governments throughout Southeast Tennessee and the Chattanooga MSA. The district cost-effectively provides staffing resources to local governments and delivers programs and services regionally. The work of the District is accomplished by utilizing local, state, federal, and private funds to offer programs and services for core business functions, including community and economic development, planning and local government assistance, career and workforce development, and aging and disability programs.
