The Edwin is one of Chattanooga’s hotel gems. This chic, five-star hotel is located right off of the waterfront within easy walking distance to the Tennessee Aquarium, Hunter Museum of American Art, Tennessee Riverwalk, and pedestrian-friendly Walnut Street Bridge. Its rooms have modern smart TVs, lovely décor, marble bathrooms, and an emphasis on natural light. Whether you’re lounging atop a riverside balcony, sipping a cup of coffee while gazing out on the art district, or simply relaxing in a luxurious bed, staying at The Edwin is not an experience to miss.
While the rooms and service are certainly something to boast about, the food and drink are also an important part of The Edwin’s amenities. Between its three dining options – Whitebird, Whiskey Thief, and Provisions – guests and Scenic City visitors are sure to find something delicious.
Whitebird is The Edwin’s upscale restaurant with a mindset both local and modern. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the day and time. Breakfast is daily from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dinner is served Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and brunch is only on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All of Whitebird’s different options are sure to delight foodies and families alike. The large breakfast and brunch menus offer everything from muffins and yogurt parfaits to tartines and scrambler plates. Whitebird even has the perfect Southern comfort breakfast – chicken and waffles!
For dinner, the chefs mix it up with exotic options such as pappardelle venison bolognese and Verlasso salmon with white wine poached oysters. Bring friends for brunch or dinner, and choose from several shareables or appetizers to split – of course, don’t forget to try one of the decadent desserts! As an added bonus, the menu is made from ingredients locally sourced from the Tennessee River Valley. For those looking for some libations to go along with their meal, Whitebird has some cocktails, but mostly serves wine. No matter what time of day you decide to stop by, you are sure to get a palate-pleasing option! Book a reservation, look into catering options, or order online; The Edwin’s Whitebird is built to satisfy.
As the very first rooftop cocktail lounge in Chattanooga, Whiskey Thief – named after a whiskey distilling tool – steals the show for whiskey lovers everywhere. It’s open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with brunch served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Though Tennessee-focused, it boasts whiskeys from around the nation and the world – Kentucky, Scotch, Irish, Canadian, and Asian are all available for your consumption. If whiskey isn’t your drink of choice, Whiskey Thief has several other options to choose from. The lounge has a sizable menu that includes wines, beers, vodkas, gins, tequilas, mezcal, rum, cognac, and brandy. Its specialty cocktails menu should definitely not be overlooked either.
This week, the weekly cocktail is a peppermint patty shot (house-infused peppermint vodka and Giffard crème de cacao). While Whiskey Thief is focused on drinks, it does have a selection of food on the menu such as snacks, shareables, and desserts. The fantastic views indoors and out would be the perfect backdrop for a night out with friends, a date night, or a night meant for some relaxing me-time. If it’s nice outside, sit out on the deck and enjoy the lovely atmosphere while you unwind.
Calling all caffeine addicts and coffee snobs! Provisions is The Edwin’s coffee shop with locally roasted coffee. The sleek, white brick look gives the shop a modern feel, while the open doors and natural light welcome anyone who needs their energy boost. It’s open at 7 a.m. Sunday through Saturday and close at 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. As locally focused as all of The Edwin’s other dining experiences are, its brunch menu is full of items handcrafted and homemade. It has typical café fare, such as pastries, salads, and sandwiches, and has different latte flavor options such as honey cinnamon, lavender, and mocha. If you’re not into coffee, the shop also has a variety of tea options with dairy-free milk options available. So, regardless of if you’ve started your day at The Edwin or are simply looking for an excellent local coffee spot, come here and stock up on delicious daily Provisions, a cup of joe, a bagel, and a bit of happiness!
