Situated high atop Lookout Mountain, McLemore seems to have it all: an 18-hole championship golf course, a master-planned gated community of homes, a Skye Lawn for hosting weddings and events, not to mention some of the most scenic views our area has to offer. The Scenic Land Company community also has its eyes on the future, with plans for a brand-new lodge currently in the works. The lodge will mirror many of the elements found in the new McLemore Clubhouse, which opened in November 2020.
Dubbed “a retreat above the clouds” meant for residents, locals, and travelers alike, the McLemore Clubhouse perfectly encapsulates the feel of a luxury escape. This state-of-the-art Clubhouse was designed by master planner Roland Aberg and architect Tim Slattery, along with local architects Thomas Palmer and Craig Peavy of Tinker Ma, Inc. The team drew inspiration for the design from the geography, culture, and natural beauty of the land and its people. The completed building frame, which extends to the surrounding cliffside landscape, fits right in to the mountaintop environment with its rugged appearance. The Clubhouse’s design combines traditional, natural materials, such as field stone and slate, with modern amenities that are sure to delight members and their guests.
A stunning carved wooden door serves to the entrance to the Clubhouse and all that’s inside. From fine and casual dining to a specialty golf pro shop, the Clubhouse holds everything one might need to relax, recharge, and make a few memories along the way. Here, we’re sharing everything you need to know about the Clubhouse’s exclusive offerings.
You can enjoy peak dining at The Creag.
For an elevated dining experience – literally – make a reservation at The Creag [kreyg]. The Scottish-inspired restaurant serves elevated comfort food from Executive Chef Anthony Hooper, whose seasonal menus include everything from Smoked Portabella Fries and Short Rib Phillys to Scottish Salmon and Pappardelle Bolognese. Offered on Saturday and Sunday mornings, brunch at The Creag also deserves a mention due to such delicacies as Dutch Baby pancakes, Mushroom Strata, and The Full Breakfast – complete with scrambled eggs, Benton’s ham, house-made bacon, and biscuit and gravy.
Not only do guests get to enjoy delicious bites, each course can be paired with craft cocktails and the finest curated whiskeys and wines from around the world; a separate bar area houses the libations, which can be reached via ladder that slides across the bar wall.
