Black Arts & Ideas: Black Dads Matter Father’s Day Brunch

June 21, 2026 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm

Black Arts & Ideas: Festival Series will present Black Arts & Ideas: Black Dads Matter Father’s Day Brunch on Sunday, June 21, at Community Haven, as part of UNITED WE STAND Chattanooga’s Juneteenth celebration.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., with brunch service beginning at 12:00 noon. The FREE afternoon program will begin at 2:00 p.m. and feature Dr. Gina Paige, Co-Founder of African Ancestry, as the special guest speaker.

This year’s gathering is especially meaningful because it brings together the themes of freedom, family, fatherhood, children, history, identity, and legacy. At a time when Black history is too often challenged, erased, politicized, or misunderstood, this event creates space for families and community members to remember who we are, where we come from, and why our stories matter.

Dr. Paige’s work through African Ancestry has helped thousands of Black people reconnect with their African roots through DNA testing, family history, and cultural identity. Her message is deeply connected to the meaning of Juneteenth: remembering what was taken, reclaiming what was hidden, and celebrating the strength, brilliance, and resilience of Black people across generations.

The 2:00 program will also include an Ancestry Reveal, featuring Local 3 News’ Latrice Curry. This powerful moment will allow the community to witness the beauty, emotion, and importance of reconnecting with ancestral identity.

Tickets for the brunch are available now. Community members who plan to attend the 2:00 p.m. program with Dr. Gina Paige are encouraged to register in advance, whether or not they attend the brunch.
