Erlanger Health System has served the Chattanooga region for over 125 years as the community’s nonprofit hospital. Erlanger includes seven hospitals and emergency rooms, eight Express Care locations, three community health centers, and numerous physician practices ranging from family medicine to specialty care located in Tennessee, North Georgia, and North Carolina. Erlanger is the region’s only academic medical center affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Children’s Hospital, the highest level neonatal intensive care unit, and kidney transplant program among a myriad of other certifications. Erlanger’s tertiary care services cover a region spanning 50,000 square miles, and Erlanger is the only provider of these services in the Chattanooga area with over 900 licensed beds throughout the region. The health system also operates a fleet of six air ambulances, providing over 2,000 flights each year. Erlanger offers centers of excellence in bariatrics, cancer, heart and lung, emergency, neuroscience, orthopaedics, pediatrics, primary care, surgery, trauma, urology, and women’s services. Erlanger is recognized internationally for its Southeast Regional Stroke Center and the role it plays in clinical trials, technology innovations, and stroke treatment.
