Ready to drop in? Here’s everything you need to know about the Chattanooga Skatepark.
Overview of Chattanooga Skatepark
Located in Chattanooga’s Southside at 1801 Reggie White Boulevard, the Chattown Skatepark and Hockey Rink is a lighted outdoor park for skateboards, bikes, inline roller skating, and hockey. The park is open from sunrise to 11 p.m. every day, and it is free to the public. However, visitors must pay for parking.
The Chattanooga Skatepark offers a family-friendly environment and is open to skaters of all ages and abilities. As for amenities, the skatepark offers a small shade pavilion, seating area, and a variety of skating elements, including ramps, rails, boxes, and more. Adjacent to the skating area, the park also offers a flat outdoor roller hockey rink, featuring bleachers and a scoreboard.
Renovating the Chattanooga Skatepark
When Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly proposed a budget for the 2025 fiscal year, $3 million were allocated toward a renovation of the Chattanooga Skatepark. This remodel will create a 30,000-square-foot skatepark with poured-in-place concrete.
New equipment will include skateable art sculptures and other landscaping, as well as a variety of riding terrains, including new bowls, rails, and more. All equipment will be protected by a metal edging to ensure it lasts for years to come. The renovated skatepark will also offer new amenities for non-skaters, including a dog park, green spaces, stage, area for food trucks, and more.
According to a February 2025 update from Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors, the city began receiving bids for the construction in November of 2024, though they were out of range of the city’s proposed budget. While no construction schedule can be outlined until the city accepts a bid, Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors hopes to accept a bid and start construction later this spring.
Roller Hockey Leagues
Chattanooga Hockey, a nonprofit inline hockey organization, offers an adult league (for those ages 16 and older) as well as three youth leagues (U9, U12, and U15) at the Chattanooga Skatepark. Leagues are open to all skill levels and their focus is to “encourage participation, develop character, advocate sportsmanship, and promote community engagement.”
Chattanooga Hockey offers three seasons for the adult league (fall, winter, and summer) and two seasons for the youth leagues (fall and winter.) Those interested in the roller hockey league can register on Chattanooga Hockey’s website.
