Superior Service Meets Practical Banking Needs

Here in the Scenic City, there are plenty of financial institutions to fit the needs of residents and business owners alike. With local, regional, and national institutions to choose from, Chattanoogans can easily access the services and solutions that are right for them.

Across the city, a wealth of banks and credit unions are ready and waiting to serve their customers. Consumer needs ranging from checking and savings accounts to mortgage and business loans spur banks to offer a variety of products and services, while developing longer-term financial relationships.

Financial planning services continue to make their way to mainstream banking entities. Among other services, banks are helping individuals and businesses with retirement plans, pensions, trusts, insurance needs, and portfolio management.

Banking in Chattanooga is mirroring national trends when it comes to mergers and acquisitions, and these business deals often allow consumers to enjoy expanded products and services. Last year, Builtwell Bank successfully completed the previously announced acquisition of Bank of Cleveland, expanding the bank’s current offerings in the community. In September of last year, North Georgia National Bank announced a 2026 merger with M.a.c. A Millennium Bank, looking to provide expanded resources to customers.

In addition to these mergers and acquisitions, several companies have entered the Chattanooga market or are expanding their existing footprint. Chase Bank opened a new branch on Brainerd Road in August of last year, marking their third location in Chattanooga, with plans to open an additional branch in the city in 2026. Nashville-based Studio Bank opened a temporary space while planning a permanent branch location in Warehouse Row, where they will focus on membership experience and modern technology. Additionally, WesBanco is set to open their first retail banking center in Chattanooga this year, which will offer a comprehensive suite of products including deposit services.

While some banks may be new to the area or are changing form, powerhouse companies and regional favorites continue to offer dependable service. Among the many area banks are FirstBank, First Horizon Bank, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Regions Bank, SmartBank, SouthEast Bank, Synovus Bank, and Truist.

In addition to consolidated companies, new players, and local mainstays, other traditional banks and credit unions continue to diligently serve the Chattanooga community.
